Liu Xiaoyu has more than a decade of CBA experience with the Guangdong Southern Tigers, Shanghai Sharks and Beijing Ducks. He won multiple CBA championships with Guangdong and also previously played for the China National Team.

In addition, 196cm guard Hayden Blankley will also join the team. Blankley most recently played for West Texas A&M University in the NCAA and is a player of Chinese heritage.

The Bay Area Dragons will compete in exhibition games later this month before joining the Commissioner’s Cup as a guest team, making the Dragons the first guest ball club in the PBA in nearly two decades. The PBA Commissioner’s Cup is tentatively scheduled to begin on September 21 this year. EASL’s inaugural home-and-away season pan-regional format tips off October 12, with eight teams. The first Dragons game is on opening day and will be against the runner-up of the on-going PBA Philippine Cup.

This year, the Japan Basketball Players Association (JBPA) received public submissions that would involve the cooperation from player members of the JBPA. In order to realize the seven projects selected, the players travelled to various parts of the country from June to July or participated in the projects online.

A port ball tournament was held at Buddy Sports Kindergarten earlier this year, and approximately 500 children participated. The children watched the games, and the athletes gave demonstrations of highlight plays in front of the kindergarten children and presented autographed balls. The venue was filled with enthusiasm with many children playing seriously and their parents cheering them on.
